Summary:

The Database Developer works with Business Analyst, .Net Developer and System Architect to design, develop, and maintain database, data integrations, data analytics, and business intelligence solutions. Solutions will support operations and monitoring and may support other areas of the business, including accounting, engineering, construction, asset management and business management.

The successful candidate will be self-driven, enjoy learning, experienced in database development, and is comfortable working in a growing company within a growth industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, build and support databases, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions, Business Intelligence, and reporting solutions using best practices.
• Configuration of SCADA systems for data communication, integration and reporting.
• Work with .Net Developer and the System Architect to convert requirements into a solution design.
• Code and Unit Test solution components.
• Work with .Net Developer, Business Analyst and Project Management to document that solution meets project requirements.
• Assist in the development of test plans.
• Build and prepare solutions for release to the Production environment.
• Provide ongoing technical support for Production Database and Integration systems including analyzing issues, defining and implementing initial fixes and/or workarounds, designing and implementing permanent solutions, and assisting with any data cleanup efforts.
• Assist with the development of IT project plans and providing time estimates for assigned work.
• Assist Business Analyst with reviewing and clarifying system and end-user documentation to support new system implementation, enhancement deployment, and incident management efforts.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems preferred.
• Highly proficient with SQL Server and database design.
• Highly proficient with Reporting and BI tool, such as SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports and/or PowerBI.
• Experienced with ETL tools, such as SQL Server Integration Services.
• Experienced using Microsoft SQL Server in a development environment.
• Experienced with configuration and data communication of SCADA systems.
• Experienced with Database modeling and diagramming tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure SQL and/or Azure Data Warehouse.
• Experience in using Web APIs including SOAP and REST a plus.
• Experience with Testing and Debugging tools a plus.
• Experience with Development Methodologies such as Agile a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing software solutions using Microsoft tools.
• Training or experience with standard IT processes, such as ITIL or ISO IEC a plus.
• Training or experience with IT NERC processes a plus.
• Required: can demonstrate proficiency ini Microsoft Azure.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:  

• Work is performed in an office environment.
• Less than 5% travel.
