Overview

Summary:

 

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all company facilities within an assigned area as directed by the Facilities Manager. This position is expected to have a working knowledge of and be able to perform or supervise trade professionals performing, repairs and preventative maintenance at company facilities including electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. The role additionally advises and assists the Facility Manager in matters related to space utilization, facility startup and shutdown activities, lease and contract supervision, and construction and permitting matters.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine building inspections of all company office facilities, warehouses, and remote depots within an assigned region or as directed to support the company’s facility program.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, structural components, doors, door frames, windows, floors, ceilings, walls, and any other interior or exterior portion of company facilities.
  • Requires daily travel within assigned region. Must be willing to travel outside of assigned region anywhere within the United States.
  • Perform or assist in repair and maintenance of HV/AC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment, appliances, and systems; Provide vendor cost estimates for repairs, installations, and maintenance as required.
  • Operate machinery in support of maintenance activities.
  • Respond to maintenance and repair requests in a timely manner, to include afterhours maintenance emergencies.
  • Write and submit reports, perform data entry, receive and processes work orders and service requests, and update work order systems and related databases.
  • Order and transport materials and equipment in support of maintenance activities and facility startup or shutdown.
  • Interact with facility representatives and leadership to coordinate maintenance and repair activities.
  • Provide direct maintenance support as required on company solar farms and construction sites.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust quickly to emerging priorities on short notice.
  • Exceptional adaptability skills, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must be highly energized and reliable and possess the ability to work with minimal day to day guidance.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s licenses, clean driving record, and drive a company assigned vehicle.
  • Willing to obtain licensing or certification on various vehicles and pieces of machinery.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 3+ years maintenance or construction experience within the commercial sector.
  • Familiar with all facets of general maintenance and construction.
  • Proficiency with common computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Access)
  • Proficient written and verbal communications skills, as well as being an exceptional collaborator. 
  • Strong organizational skills necessary to document and track matters from inception to resolution.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
